Shaldon Road Praise – Index of First Lines

Shaldon Road Church uses the Shaldon Road Praise song book.  For an alphabetical index of first lines of the hymns and songs, click on the above link.

Shaldon Road church meets for worship every Sunday at 10.30am and we extend an invitation to all to join us for a time of fellowship, music, prayer and companionship.

We are a relaxed and friendly congregation and although mostly retired people we have a small junior church and there is a good family atmosphere.

We are about a mile from the centre of Newton Abbot in the Buckland area with a modern church building which is celebrating its fortieth anniversary in 2015.  Keep an eye on the noticeboards and the diary on this website for anniversary events!

Our services are led by a variety of preachers from the Teignbridge Methodist Circuit and we have an informal “café” style with tables and chairs as we like to talk to each other. We are blessed with a modern organ and an organist who keeps worship lively and joyful so we ask our preachers to choose hymnsthat are up to date and can be sung with joy.

We have a coffee and chat time on a Monday morning which is a good time to catch up on news and events and we have regular visitors from the area and other churches. Why not call in for a coffee or tea and say hello?

We have a parent and toddler group that meets twice a week and provides support for local families and children. We are keen to support local initiatives that help local people and the estate whenever we can and we are active supporters of Christians Together in Newton Abbot.

We have a monthly afternoon fellowship meeting led by our minister Jon Doble and we have good discussion on issues from Bible study passages to climate change.

At Shaldon Road church we have a number of evening events at festivals during the year such as Harvest and Christmas, where we share a meal and the emphasis is on fun and community.

The church building is available for hire and is used for birthday parties, dance and fitness classes so please do get in touch if you would like to use it.
