Our Mission Statement:
As a part of the whole Christian Church our mission is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out our discipleship in worship and mission.
We do this through:
Worship and prayerfulness;
Support of each other in care and spiritual growth;
Engagement in the life of the local and global community;
Sharing the riches of our faith with others
We shall live out this mission:
Through our local Methodist Circuit;
In partnership with the other churches in the town;
As a part of the worldwide body of Christ;
Alongside other organisations in the community.
‘Church in the Community’
We have now moved out of our traditional Church building for Sunday morning worship, and currently meet at the Town Hall.
On the last Sunday of the month we have ‘Breakfast@9’ a family breakfast service, and on other Sundays we are currently establishing a new format of worship, more often in an informal, family-friendly and café style.
Our bible-study and fellowship meeting happens regularly on a Monday evening in a member’s home, and there are various prayer times throughout the week. We also aim to start a periodic ‘Moor Church’ session shortly.
Alongside our friends at the Parish Church we support the monthly Messy Church and the new monthly ‘Fun Size Church’, and in the last two years we have worked together on a 3 day summer holiday club for those aged 5-11
We also support our local Food Bank and Tuesday morning community market in the town, and have a Saturday coffee morning, currently still in the old Methodist Church building.
