Life is good!

A new cooker!  A shiny, clean hob!  An oven that works!

An optimistic chef!  No more burnt cakes!

Just perfect cuisine now!

Until, that is,  I burnt the sausages!

Doh! I left them in my frying pan just a little bit too long as I was drafting emails! Cooking was not taught at theological college! However, I flipped the sausages, decided that they were still great to eat, and that’s when the shrill, piercing sound began! The Smoke Alarm!

I waved my tea towel repeatedly around the alarm, as one does, to stop the deafening noise, but to no avail, for the ringing continued. Why didn’t it stop?

That’s when the penny finally dropped!  I was waving at the wrong smoke alarm!      The active alarm was in the hallway!

Are you frustrated that something isn’t working for you today? Fed up with trying hard and getting nowhere? Are you digging in the wrong place? Barking up the wrong tree? Pressing the wrong buttons? Pushing doors that won’t open? If so, maybe your focus needs to be shifted somewhere else?

Jn 21  Their change of focus brought them immediate results, better productivity, and a hoard of fish! Exactly what they needed!   Is it time to shift your focus elsewhere?
